Terms & Conditions

1. This competition is open to all Malaysian (the photographer) except the employees of Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd.
2. There is no restriction of cameras used or brands, SLR or compact etc.
3. Photograph submitted must be taken during the contest period (10 November – 10 December 2014), must be the work of the photographer submitting the photographs and must not have been published elsewhere (eg: website, social medias, magazine, newspaper etc) or have won a prize in any other photographic competition.
4. The photo must reflect the theme: “Indah Water: Through My Lens”.
5. The organizer has sole and absolute discretion to determine which submission entries are qualified for the competition.
6. The contest period is from 10 November – 10 December 2014 & only photographs received during the competition period will be accepted for the competition.
7. Closing date for this competition is 10 December 2014, 12pm.
8. Each participant is allowed to submit a maximum of ten photos per entry.
9. All photos will be judged by selected panel of judges. Judges decision is final. No negotiation will be accepted and be entertained.
10. All entries should include the following details (participation form):
    • Name
    • Address
    • Mobile Number & E-mail address
    • Photo description
    • Location of the photo taken
    • Survey questions

11. The following items should be included in the submission entry:
• Printed 8”x12” hardcopy of the photograph(s)
• Digital format (softcopy (CD/DVD) :
  1. Minimum resolution : must be 2,048 x 1,360 pixels & 300 dpi
  2. Minimum file size: 5MB per photograph with all EXIFF data intact
  3. Photograph format: .jpg format. Photos can be in colour or black and white.

12. Photoshop (or similar imaging software) has become a necessary tool for processing photographs, but it is not a substitute for good photography. Therefore, we are providing these guidelines on what modification is acceptable and what is not:

ALLOWED:

• Global changes; brightness, contrast, sharpening, saturation changes
• Rotation, flip and flop.
• Crop

NOT ALLOWED:

• Cutting & pasting sections of images from another part of an image or from another image. No cloning objects or composite images. For example, moving any other elements of a photo, adding glow to stimulate a flashlight, or adding a silhouette in the background
• Excessive blurring
• No multiple exposures (HDR)
• No watermark, signatures, photographer's name or copyright notices
• No borders/frames on photo
• Using multiple images in a single photo entry (collage)
13. The photographer must be the copyright owner of any works submitted and confirmed that he/she has the necessary permission from people or structures that may appear in the photo.
14. The organizer will have exclusive rights to all photographs submitted for this competition. Participation in the competition and submission of photographs grants the organizer a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the images in its sole discretion and the right to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of IWK publications, IWK website and/or in any promotional material (billboards, posters, leaflets, brochures and social media). Any photograph selected to be used in that way would be done so with or without proper attribution to the photographer.
15. All entries will be judged as follows:-
• Originality
• Composition or picture impact
• Creativity, uniqueness
• Skills, Technique used.
16. No entry shall contain the following in any form:
• Threatening, false, misleading, abusive, defamatory, infringing, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane content.
• Contain any material that could constitute or encourage conduct which would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability or violate any law.
• Any material that could infringe upon copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity.
• Any trademarks or copyrighted materials owned by third parties.
17. Indah Water shall not be responsible for entries lost or damaged during mail/courier. Proof of postage is not proof of delivery.
