  1. Can gazetted agricultural land be used as a buffer zone for sewage treatment plant/network pump station?
  2. Can 10m buffer zone be allowed for high-rise building if proposed sewage treatment plant is enclosed type?
  3. What is the buffer zone requirement for a non-registered structure (example illegal squatters)?
  4. For a 10m buffer zone requirement, can I propose a 5m buffer within the same development and another 5m buffer at the adjacent lot designated for future development?
  5. How do we define high-rise building in order to comply with buffer zone requirement?

Biological Tank

  3. Should the opening from anoxic tank to aeration tank be placed on top or at the bottom of the tanks?

  1. Can a sludge drying bed be exempted if there is a nearby Mechanical Dewatering Unit (MDU)?
  2. Should sludge holding tank still be designed for 30 days storage if sludge drying bed is provided?
  3. Should Volatile Suspended Solid (VSS) reduction be considered for the sizing of sludge holding tank?
  4. Am I required to design both sludge holding tank and sludge drying bed for a sewage treatment plant?
  5. Can the scum be returned to the sludge holding tank?
  6. A gantry with motorized hoist is arranged to allow items to be projected on a 1.2m truck tray and positioned at 2m above road level truck tray for an equipment weighing more than 250kg. However, when a roller shutter is used, this affects the gantry. What measures can be taken to solve this issue?

Disinfection Chamber

  1. Can I use air lift to replace drainage pump to drain out effluent at disinfection chamber?
  2. Disinfection chamber for small STP seldom being used, as a result, it becomes a mosquito breeding ground. Can it be exempted?

Discharged Point

  1. Can emergency overflow from sewage treatment plant/network pump station be discharged into retention pond?
  2. Can I discharge sewage treatment plant effluent into a retention pond?
  3. Where should I discharge effluent if there is no proper final discharge point?
  4. Can the effluent from refuse chamber be channeled into manhole/sewer pipes?

  1. Where can I get the latest format of bank guarantee for Performance Bond?
  2. Can I change the sentence/wordings in the bank guarantee if the bank advice me to do so?

SCC Policy

  1. Can Developer who revive/rescue an abandoned project be exempted from paying Sewerage Capital Contribution (SCC) if the proposed development is to be connected to public sewerage system?

Other Requirements

  1. There are two different sets of noise level requirement, i.e. MSIG Volume IV and DOE. Which one should I follow?
